Sanofi Pasteur has been creating, developing, and refining vaccines for more than 100 years and is one of the world’s largest influenza vaccine manufacturers, supplying a significant portion of global and U.S. flu vaccine demand. To support these state-of-the-art facilities, we provide critical infrastructure services that operate continuously, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring uninterrupted research and manufacturing operations.
Our turnkey design-build-operate-and-maintain solution is delivered through a prime contract directly with the owner and is specifically engineered to support nonstop research and manufacturing requirements. By delivering mechanical systems as prime solutions, this approach has proven to be faster and more cost-effective than traditional construction manager-led methods. The solution is supported by a long-term operations and maintenance agreement that includes performance-based incentives to ensure reliability and efficiency.
The large-scale mechanical infrastructure was designed with simplicity, flexibility, and reliability at its core. The system includes 9,000 tons of low-temperature process cooling and 4,000 horsepower of high-pressure steam process heating, enabling critical manufacturing processes. The project also involved the implementation and changeover from a decentralized plant while maintaining existing operations. Over the course of a 10-year operations and maintenance agreement, the infrastructure has achieved 99.998 percent equipment availability and uptime. Utility distribution systems were installed beneath the campus’s main street using box culvert structures and include chilled water, steam, fire protection, potable water, storm water, sanitary systems, and medium-voltage electrical power, providing a fully integrated and resilient campus-wide utility network.
